The Generosity of the Poor
The most generous people in the world--those who give the most in relation to what they have--are the poor. The poor have something to teach us--that sharing with others makes our lives happier. And studies in the industrialized world show that those who share with others also live longer.
The generosity of the poor is a challenge to us. Yet, we don't have to push ourselves into poverty to give a poor girl an education, but we do need to care--and to recognize that educating a girl brings us benefits as well.
Girls receiving scholarships do the work of studying--a gift of education is not a hand-out. You can give to any project or country, or where most needed. Quarterly donations are especially helpful in funding the costs of a girl's education.
